Community Art Project – August 1-October 9 (extended!)
Share your most creative photos using the theme “eyes” and you could help restore someone’s sight AND win something for yourself! Approximately 144 entries will be randomly selected to be part of a collective artwork being auctioned off with proceeds going to Seva Canada.
Accreditation 101 – Free, Drop In
Friday November 1, 1:00-2:30
Everyone is welcome to learn more about the Professional Photographers of Canada’s Accreditation process. How to submit images, what the judges are looking for, different category options. Plus watch a live critique of accreditation images. Attendees are welcome to bring a flash drive with 10 images (all in one category) for the opportunity to have your image reviewed. Image Critique – Free, Drop In
Friday November 1, 3:00-4:30
Watch and listen while judges critique images from the recent PPOC-BC competition – which includes images to be displayed in the gallery exhibition. Learn how image impact, storytelling, composition and technique come together to create award winners. PPOC-BC members may have their 2019 competition images critiqued at this event.
Gallery Opening Reception and Kick – Off Speaker Grant Withers – paid, ticketed
The kick off to PHOTOGraphie, this gallery opening event is a chance to mingle with our speakers, PPOC-BC members, student and youth contest finalists and VIPs. Join us for a glass of wine, while enjoying the photographic art. Cash bar. Then settle down to get creative with Grant Wither’s Kick-Off Presentation.
Best of BC Gallery Exhibition – FREE, Drop In
November 2-3, 2019
The gallery exhibition display is open to the public during the PHOTOGraphie festival. This curated exhibition features the creative work of PPOC-BC Members, as well as our Keynote Speaker’s imagery, Photographic Students’ work and top youth contest photographs. Drop in anytime to view the artwork and perhaps find a piece of art for your home or office.

MARKET PLACE – FREE, Drop-InThe 2019 Market Place is a mini-trade show, FREE admission and open to the public from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm on Saturday, November 2nd and Sunday November 3rd.

Keynote Speakers
Saturday November 2, 2019 – Paid, ticketed
We have two wonderful speakers planned for Saturday. Each speaking for half a day, so you won’t have to miss either one.
Internationally acclaimed family and children’s photographer, Dana Pugh, will speak about “Pricing Sustainably in the Digital Age”. Since 2015, Dana has been mentoring photographers on how to price their digital files. In the afternoon she will be offering a limited seating master class (additional fee applies).
Don Komarechka‘s afternoon keynote will discuss “How Obscure Niches Translate into a Successful Career”. A nature, macro and landscape photographer from Ontario, Don shares insights on how to create a successful photography career with out of the ordinary subjects. In the morning, Don will host a limited seating hands on macro workshop (additional fee applies).

A host of renowned photographers will provide presentations on Sunday November 3, 2019 9am-4:30pm. The variety of topics including fine art, wedding, portraiture, nature, attracting clients, finding an agent, business branding and more.

Don’t miss this opportunity to watch the imagery and celebrate the winners of PPOC-BC’s Image Competition, Student Awards and Youth Contest. The awards presentations are followed by networking time with a cash bar and silent auction.
